My research activities are focused on a number of topic areas including mesenchymal stem cell use in tissue engineering for connective tissue repair and regeneration; influence of obesity-inducing diets on development of joint damage in preclinical models; tendon and ligament repair in preclinical models and patient populations; sex-differences in response to injuries; interface between biology and mechanics in tissues of the MSK; and cell therapies for osteoarthritis. Many of our projects are collaborations with researchers in Japan, Sweden, Germany, as well as in Canada and locally.
